Overview

Client’s end-to-end information protection solutions are being used by companies across all major industries to improve information security posture—whether it is simple, obvious data such as Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers, or other privacy data, to non-obvious, complex concepts such as intellectual property.

Client also provides these same companies with the ability to ensure acceptable use of corporate resources to help optimize productivity, resource utilization, and ensure adherence to corporate ethical standards requirements.
 
We are currently seeking an experienced Field Sales Engineer to join our northeast regional sales team. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of current experience as a Field Sales Engineer for appliance-based network security products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales

  • Provide deep product and industry expertise to support the Sales team during sales calls, product demonstrations, technical discussions, and business case development 
  • Engage with the sales team, prospects, and customers to develop and present comprehensive product and services proposals 
  • Plan and execute Proofs of Concept 
  • Help close product and services contracts

  • Implementation 

  • Understand customers' requirements and their technical/network architecture 
  • Specify the technical approach 
  • Design network deployment architectures 
  • Install and configure Client product solutions 
  • Troubleshoot network deployment issues 
  • Provide business consulting/advice on the rollout

  • Project Management 

  • Develop the deployment project plan and own the day-to-day execution of the project 
  • Manage the project scope, team, status reporting, issues, and budget 
  • Support customers and partners in their delivery efforts

  • Post-implementation Account Management/Support 

  • Work with the Support Manager to guide the customers through product updates and upgrades as necessary 
  • Perform periodic customer and system "health checks" 
  • Manage the customer reference-ability and on-going relationship

Qualifications 

  • 3 - 5+ years experience as a Presales Engineer for appliance-based network security products, working directly with customers in pre-sales, project management, and technical delivery roles 
  • Broad, deep hands-on experience with networking protocols and Windows networking 
  • Hands-on Linux/Unix system administration and shell scripting experience 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (presentation, verbal, and written) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Passion for customer service and success 
  • Able to travel extensively in the region, and sometimes outside the region 
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline 
  • Security certifications are a plus (e.g. CISSP, CCNA, and/or CISA)
