Career and Leadership Summit

DANVILLE, CA – Hosted by Job Connections, a free half-day conference targeted to Bay Area professionals, looking to enrich their personal and professional lives, will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 222 W. El Pintado Road in Danville, CA.

This year’s Conference features three prominent speakers including a best selling author and authority on leadership who will discuss “Leadership That Makes A Difference” highlighting ways to achieving greater influence while maximizing your potential; one of the Nations top 75 Recruiters speaking on “Networking your way to Success;” and a well-known and well respected leadership communications expert speaking on “Five Strategies for Better Results - Effective Communication in Leadership.”

Sheila Murray Bethel, PhD, CPAE - (Walnut Creek) - An authority and best selling author on leadership, discussing “Leadership That Makes A Difference,” Sheila holds a PhD in Communications and has served on the adjunct faculty of Indiana Purdue University, San Francisco State University, University of Southern California and is a currently a member of the Advisory Council for Amsted University based in Malaysia. As a widely published author, Sheila has four books translated into several languages, including the best seller, Making A Difference, 12 Qualities That Make You A Leader. She is also creator and host of two National Public Television Specials, Making A Difference. 

Sheila has worked on projects with four U.S. Presidents' and was appointed to the Board of Advisor's for America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth, by Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, who is the Founding Chairman. She was inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame in 1986 and has been recognized as one of the "Twenty-one Top Speakers for the 21st Century," by Successful Meetings Magazine.

Joe Pelayo (San Francisco) – Joe is a best-selling author, having written the book "Work Your Network!" which has received excellent reviews from Les Brown, Brian Tracy and other industry leaders, speakers, and trainers.  He writes a monthly newsletter "The Network," sent to 50,000 executives and is the author of several motivational DVD training programs.

Joe is a member of the Les Brown Speakers' Network, the National Speakers Association, The Silicon Forum, and SV100; Silicon Valley's 100 most influential individuals. He is a Past President of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, a group of million dollar business owners, and the Founding President of BayCFO, an organization of top CFOs in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also a long-time member of the Pinnacle Society, an organization of the top 75 recruiters in the United States.  It’s the “high-school-drop-out-to-riches” aspect of Joe’s story that makes him such an interesting speaker, full of practical tips and advice to help you “Network-your-way-to-Success!”
 
Libby Wagner (Seattle, WA) –Libby Wagner is president and founder of  Professional Leadership Results, Inc. and Influencing Options. She  works with business leaders to align their people with their visions 
and is known by many as "The Influencing Coach."

Libby is a recognized expert in leadership, performance management and workplace development.  She offers an ethical, respectful way to face issues, both professional and personal, and help people gain confidence and clarity while influencing with ethics, managing high performance, and effective problem solving.

Libby is a graduate of the National Institute of Leadership Development and the prestigious Million Dollar Consulting College®. Her own client groups include: Nike, ST Microelectronics, Avocent Corporation, TIGI/Tony & Guy, Coldwell Banker, Cascadia PM, Costco Wholesale Corporation, The Boeing Company as well as several colleges and universities.
